Grand Master Hwang Kee began teaching a martial art called Tang Soo Do (唐手道) based on elements of Chinese martial arts (especially Tang Soo Do) he had learned while studying in China, Japanese karate, and the traditional martial art of Taekkyeon. This art later evolved into Su Dang Do (唐手道) and Moodeokkwan Taekwondo.
